Request for Support - Award Nomination

Tue, Apr 9, 2024 4:00 PM GMT

Victim Services of Durham Region is nominated for both a Canadian Screen Award and a Webby (mentioned below) for our new Virtual Reality Game “In Your Shoes”, which is a part of our Immersive Learning Youth Violence Prevention and Anti-Human Trafficking program launching May 3 at Safety Village Whitby and will be a portable program that can visit schools. The larger program is called the Teen IRL (“In Real Life”) Empowerment and Prevention Program. Last year our prevention programs reached over 30,000 youth across Ontario and with this game we intend to reach more!

This will be the First Immersive Learning and Virtual Reality program for Youth Violence Prevention in Canada and one of the first in the world!

This Webby award depends on votes and we are up against some giants like Time Magazine and Peta so every vote counts.

You can vote here for “In Your Shoes”:

VSDR is seeking your support in encouraging members of your teams and our communities to vote. Voting closes on April 18th.

Thanking you in advance for your support,
