2024-25 Victim Services Awards of Distinction Recipients

The 2024-25 Attorney General’s Victim Services Awards of Distinction recognize the dedication and achievements of individuals and organizations working to support people who have experienced victimization due to crime, and to raise awareness of victims’ issues in Ontario.

Krista MacNeil has spent over two decades advocating for victims of human trafficking and sexual violence, pushing for systemic and legislative change. As the executive director of Victim Services of Durham Region, she has developed an award-winning virtual reality program called In Your Shoes to teach youth about human trafficking and sexual violence and how to stay safe online. Krista is also the dedicated chair of the Durham Region Human Trafficking Coalition and has spearheaded the development of the Child and Youth Advocacy Centre in Durham.
